Breakfast this morning consisted of muffins and
Go-Gurt! YUM!
We made a few more stops at Flying J’s to fill up the tanks
and take bathroom breaks! We had lunch, which consisted of bagel sandwiches,
and traveled, through Louisiana’s Cajun Country into the great state of Texas.
Seeing that the first mile marker read 880, we were all a little intimidated!
Construction and scatter showers set us back a bit, but we got to San Antonio
at about 4.
We toured the historic Alamo as a group then proceeded to
the river walk, barefoot because a lady was supposed to meet us at the river
with special flip flops, though she failed to show up. The concrete was super
hot, but the trek was rewarding because we got to soak our feet in the cool
water at the end. From there we split up into smaller groups and explored the
shops and restaurants nearby for a mere 45 minutes. We piled back on to the bus
and vans for the last leg of our day. For dinner we had wraps and carrots while
on our way to Schreiner University. An ambassador from the college, senior
José, spoke to us about the college and his personal experiences. He told us about
the different sports on campus, and what makes the school different from others
in the area. He told us the classes are small, professors really get to know
you and they care about you and your success in school!
